Job Description
PRODUCTION SCHEDULER
Working as part of a team, our production Schedulers use a Production Forecast to plan, prioritize, and schedules production at our various facilities to ensure that the correct product is available at the right time, in the right place and in the right quantity to meet customer orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
� Use a Production Forecast to plan production on designated product lines.
� Provide input in the development of the weekly Production Forecast.
� Coordinate with Purchasing, Production and Shipping departments.
� Monitor schedule attainment and analyze variances.
� Use established guidance to observe and maintain target material inventory levels.
� Maintain weekly records of Key Performance Indicators.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
� University or College degree
� APIC�s CPIM designation a distinct advantage
� Experience with production scheduling in an industrial setting.
� Previous experience or sound knowledge of ERP systems, in particular the production planning and inventory management modules
� Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Kanban will be an asset.
� Solid background in mathematics
Computer Skills
� Extensive knowledge of Excel including advanced level equations.
� Expertise creating Access database queries.
� SQL query knowledge
� Experience with Microsoft Office 2007.
� Visual Basic Macros knowledge an asset.
� Computer Programming experience is an asset.
� ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Infor Syteline etc.) experience
� Report writing experience (Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services)
Personal Skills
� A self starter with the ability to work independently within a team environment
� Strong quantitative and analytical skills and good problem solving ability.
� Good communication skills, capable of dealing with colleagues located in other countries
� A good work ethic with the motivation to meet personal and team goals.
� Possess the initiative to voluntarily undertake work related and/or self development activities with effective use of resources.
