Job Description Must have CICA
Tax Consultant - 6 Month Contract
Description
This position, reporting to the Director, Product Tax Management, will investigate and implement tax solutions for Investments' product initiatives as well as initiatives impacting existing clients to ensure that the most effective tax treatment is considered.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide tax expertise and analysis to determine the tax implications of product initiatives
2. Provide tax expertise and analysis in various strategic initiatives involving Investments such as integration projects resulting from Merger & Acquisition activity
3. Participate in fund rationalization projects to close or merge funds
4. Assist in the development and maintenance of distribution models for Mutual Fund Corporation(s) to ensure maximum tax efficiency is attained
Qualifications
Accounting designation with CICA-in-depth with extensive experience in the taxation of mutual funds Working knowledge with respect to the taxation of other investment vehicles offered in the marketplace and the tax impact to individuals who invest in those vehicles Ability to communicate complex legislation in easy-to-understand language Creative thinking and problem solving attitude Ability to identify the broader issues when interpreting the facts of a situation :
