Responsibilities:

Management of complex projects with strategic impact on business unit and/or division.
Ensuring that the efforts of various functional areas are integrated in the interest of the project
Acting as the key contact point for the project team, sponsor and stakeholders.
Ensuring the understanding of the project plan, business requirements, business processes, scope, stakeholder impact, affected technology to a level necessary for successful project delivery
Communicating effectively with all stakeholders to ensure awareness of project status and business impacts
Providing project direction and effective planning, particularity around requirements planning and definition.
Identifying and negotiating criteria for successful project delivery
Identifying and controlling schedules and resource allocations
Ensuring successful delivery of projects on time, to budget and within quality and scope parameters
Facilitating the identification and resolution of project issues
Development and ongoing management of project budgets and related financials
Facilitating resource planning to support the delivery of multiple projects in the portfolio.
Developing, motivating, mentoring and coaching of project team
Risk management; identification of and effective management/mitigation of project related risks.
Rapidly becoming proficient in the project delivery methodology and subsequently providing corresponding leadership and guidance to project teams.
Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications/Knowledge:

8+ years of proven project management experience
Previous experience and proven track record in delivering high profile projects.
Experience in the retirement financial services sector a plus.
Ability to present complex ideas clearly, manage the complexities of integrating new technologies and influence individuals across different business unit boundaries to achieve objectives.
Developed knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of project management, sufficient to analyze detailed concepts, and apply these in a range of related subjects or functional areas.
Strong facilitation skills to participate in the development of requirements and business processes.
General knowledge of Information Technologies and Architectures is a plus, such as web, mainframe and CRM systems and tools.
Well-developed interactive skills sufficient to convey or present factual and conceptual information on issues that require detailed explanation and interpretation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to convey issues and complex concepts at various levels within an organization.
Well-developed influential and negotiation skills sufficient to resolve distinct differences of opinion or approach.
Well-developed management/leadership skills to lead/motivate and develop others.
Well-developed vendor management and change management skills.
PMP certification or working toward certification in project management is an asset.
University degree is required.
Key Accountabilities:

Managing Project Staff (indirectly responsible for the management of a project team approximately 5-15+ people)
The Project Manager is accountable for the determination, configuration and implementation of the overall project approach based upon the risk level of the initiative.
Accountable for management of issues through to resolution including; determination of what is a critical issue that may impact the success of the initiative, facilitation of the identification of solutions, mitigation/solution approach acceptance, appropriate communication to various levels within the organization.
Accountable for deciding how changes to project scope, schedule and budget are to be handled.
Accountable for ensuring all of the right measures are taken to ensure project success.
Accountable for adhering to the project standards and is accountable for the corresponding results of internal and external audits.
Accountable for providing a view of the overall project health sufficient to be able to identify issues and risk that threaten the project success.
Works with the functional managers/Directors to identify and address performance issues.
Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects concurrently.
